Concebido por Chris Cornell (Soundgarden) como un conmovedor tributo a Andrew Wood, fallecido vocalista de Mother Love Bone, el proyecto unió fuerzas clave de la naciente escena de Seattle que daría forma al grunge, incluyendo a los futuros miembros de Pearl Jam (Mike McCready, Stone Gossard, Jeff Ament y Eddie Vedder, quien hace coros memorables) junto al baterista Matt Cameron.
